Getting to La Vallée
Crossing the Channel: The main options are the Eurotunnel from Folkestone to Calais, or one of the cross channel ferries to Calais or Dunkerque. If Portsmouth is much nearer to you than Dover you may want to consider taking the cross channel ferry from Portsmouth to Le Havre – Brittany ferries runs both day and overnight crossings.
By Car from Calais. Calais to Jaulgonne usually takes about 3 hours – whether using mostly the autoroute (A26 and then A4 at Reims heading towards Paris, take the Dormans exit) or via Soissons (exiting the A26 at St Quentin towards Soissons and then towards Fère en Tardenois).
By Train or Plane. Take the train from Paris Gare de L’Est to Chateau Thierry or Dormans, and take a taxi to Jaulgonne.
Getting to/from Paris or Reims
Paris: Check for any service updates, but typically the trains from Chateau Thierry to Paris Gare de L’Est, run hourly and take an hour. Driving towards Paris to pick up a connecting RER train typically takes longer but is possible for example by parking at Eurodisney (Marne La Vallée-Chessy station) which is a transport hub.
Reims: Reims with its wonderful cathedral and wealth of champagne houses is about 40 minutes drive. Drive through Dormans and then join the A4.
Car Hire is available at Marne La Vallée TGV station if you choose to travel by train and make this your station of arrival.
